Introduction

Jackson's lodging spans a 1941 Tudor-style landmark to standard budget chains, plus a couple of genuinely luxury properties technically located in the separate community of Teton Village. We checked eight properties below — one well-known luxury resort turned out to be closed for renovation despite still appearing bookable on some aggregator sites, exactly the kind of stale listing a careful check is meant to catch.

The Wort Hotel

A historic Tudor-style hotel built in 1941 on the Town Square, home to the landmark Silver Dollar Bar with more than 2,000 uncirculated silver dollars embedded in its bar top. A member of Historic Hotels of America.

  • *Check-in/out:
  • Commonly cited as 4pm/11am, though not confirmed directly on the hotel's own site — check at booking.
  • *Distance from JAC airport:
  • About 9-10 miles, roughly 15-20 minutes, from its Town Square location.
  • *Good to know:
  • Valet parking $30/night with unlimited in/out privileges (confirmed on official site). Dog-friendly.

Rusty Parrot Lodge & Spa

A boutique luxury lodge destroyed by fire in 2019 and rebuilt from the ground up, reopening in July

  1. A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, downtown near the Town Square.
  • *Check-in/out:
  • Commonly cited as 4pm/11am, though not independently confirmed on the property's own site.
  • *Distance from JAC airport:
  • About 9-10 miles, roughly 15-20 minutes.
  • *Good to know:
  • Confirmed as a pet-free property (service animals excepted). Valet parking reported around $25/night and required in winter (Nov 1-Apr 15) due to city parking restrictions.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole

Worth noting upfront: this ski-in/ski-out luxury resort is in Teton Village, roughly 12 miles from downtown Jackson, not in Jackson town itself — the same kind of location distinction as Bozeman's Gallatin River Lodge sitting outside that city.

  • *Check-in/out:
  • Commonly cited as 4pm/12pm, though the brand's official site blocked independent verification.
  • *Distance from JAC airport:
  • About 21-22 miles, roughly 35-40 minutes — the most remote property from the airport on this list, since Teton Village sits further out than downtown.
  • *Good to know:
  • Valet parking runs around $50/night with in/out privileges per current sources, though this figure has shifted upward over time.

Hotel Jackson

A LEED-certified boutique hotel on the Town Square with Forbes Four Star and AAA Four Diamond recognition, home to a rooftop hot tub and plunge pool.

  • *Check-in/out:
  • Reported as check-in from 4pm, check-out 11am, though not fully confirmed via direct fetch of the official site.
  • *Distance from JAC airport:
  • About 9-10 miles, roughly 15-20 minutes.
  • *Good to know:
  • A genuine luxury-tier property — official rate data shows nightly rates starting around $1,000+, though this likely reflects peak-season pricing rather than a year-round floor.

Anvil Hotel

Traces back to a 1955 motel; acquired and reopened in 2017 as a 50-room boutique property with Shaker-inspired design, near the Town Square.

  • *Check-in/out:
  • Confirmed directly on the official site: check-in 4pm, check-out 11am. Early/late arrangements available on request (fee applies for late check-out).
  • *Distance from JAC airport:
  • About 9-10 miles, roughly 15-20 minutes.
  • *Good to know:
  • Free self-parking in a lot just outside the hotel — a genuine standout among Jackson's downtown properties, most of which charge for parking. Dogs up to 50 lbs allowed, $75 fee per 3-day stay. A mandatory $35/night destination fee plus $1/night community fee applies.

Trailborn Jackson Hole

Worth a rename flag: this property operated for decades as Snow King Resort at the base of Snow King Mountain before a new ownership group closed it for a roughly $25 million renovation in March 2026 and reopened it as Trailborn Jackson Hole in May

  1. Any source still calling it "Snow King Resort" is outdated.
  • *Check-in/out:
  • Reported as 4pm/11am, though not independently confirmed since the brand's booking page blocked direct verification.
  • *Distance from JAC airport:
  • About 10-11 miles, roughly 20 minutes, from its Snow King base location at the edge of downtown.
  • *Good to know:
  • A $35/day resort fee covers pool, hot tub, fitness facility, parking, and airport shuttle access — effectively bundling parking into that fee rather than charging separately.

Cowboy Village Resort

A genuine budget-leaning option: individual log cabins with private baths and kitchenettes, walking distance to the Town Square.

  • *Check-in/out:
  • Check-in 3pm, check-out 11am — a genuinely earlier check-in than most other properties on this list.
  • *Distance from JAC airport:
  • About 9-10 miles, roughly 15-20 minutes.
  • *Good to know:
  • Dog-friendly overall, but its Grand Teton Deluxe Cabins specifically prohibit pets — worth checking room type if traveling with a dog. Cancel 48+ hours out for a refund minus a $25 fee.

Super 8 by Wyndham Jackson Hole

A standard budget chain property with typical Super 8 amenities, including breakfast.

  • *Check-in/out:
  • Reported as check-in from 4pm, check-out 11am, though not confirmed on the brand's own overview page.
  • *Distance from JAC airport:
  • About 11.5-12 miles, roughly 20-25 minutes — further out than the Town Square cluster, since it sits on the south side of town.
  • *Good to know:
  • Free breakfast, wifi, 24-hour coffee bar, and guest laundry confirmed on the official page; parking and pet policy weren't stated, so confirm directly if either matters to your stay.

A Property We Excluded

Amangani, the Aman-brand luxury resort atop East Gros Ventre Butte outside town, closed in April 2025 for an extensive renovation and was not expected to reopen until summer 2026; its own official site still showed it as closed during our research. Some booking aggregators may still list it as bookable — don't rely on those without checking current status directly.

Practical Tips

  • Four Seasons is a strong pick specifically if a ski-in/ski-out Teton Village base matters more than downtown Jackson walkability — it's also the furthest property from the airport on this list at 21-22 miles.

  • The Wort Hotel and Hotel Jackson are the two strongest downtown, walk-everywhere options.

  • Anvil Hotel is the only property on this list confirmed to offer free self-parking — most others charge $25-50/night for valet or self-park.

  • Only Anvil Hotel's check-in/out time was independently confirmed directly on its own site; the rest rely on third-party listings, so confirm directly at booking if exact timing matters.

  • Double-check Amangani's reopening status directly before booking — it may still be closed depending on when you're reading this.

  • Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) is the only commercial airport in the US located entirely inside a national park (Grand Teton), about 7 miles north of downtown — see our travel guide's "Getting There" section for the full breakdown.

Sources and Verification Notes

Each property's operating status, address, and history were checked against its own official site and cross-checked against Yelp or TripAdvisor. Amangani's 2025 closure and Trailborn's 2026 rebrand were both independently verified against local business press before being noted. Check-in/out times and airport distances were checked directly against each property's own site where stated; where a property didn't publish its own times and only third-party aggregators offered a figure, we flagged it as unconfirmed rather than presenting it as verified fact.
