Dock Square

Kennebunkport's real, actual downtown shopping and dining hub, at the intersection of Western Avenue, Spring Street, and Ocean Avenue along the Kennebunk River, housed in former 18th and 19th-century homes and warehouses.

Walker's Point

The Bush family's private estate, owned continuously since 1902 and still an active family retreat. It's not open to the public — the closest public viewing is from Ocean Avenue and the grounds of nearby St. Ann's Episcopal Church, a historic 1892 stone church that's also worth a visit in its own right.

Beaches: A Genuine Location Distinction

Goose Rocks Beach and the smaller Colony Beach are Kennebunkport's own beaches, both requiring paid parking in season. Worth getting right: Kennebunk Beach, despite the similar name, is actually located in the separate town of Kennebunk, not Kennebunkport.

Seashore Trolley Museum

A real antique trolley and streetcar museum founded in 1939, with a collection of more than 300 vehicles, open seasonally roughly May through late October.

Cape Porpoise

A genuine, historic fishing village that's part of Kennebunkport, about 2 miles from Dock Square, with an active lobster harbor and the historic Goat Island Light visible from the pier.

The Nott House

A historic 1853 Greek Revival house museum, also known as White Columns, operated by the Kennebunkport Historical Society with limited, seasonal hours — check current hours and admission directly before visiting, since both can change.

Whale Watching and Lobster Boat Tours

Genuine, established local operators run whale-watching trips and shorter lobster-boat and lighthouse tours from the area.

Practical Tips

• Don't confuse Kennebunk Beach (in Kennebunk) with Goose Rocks Beach or Colony Beach (both genuinely in Kennebunkport).

• Walker's Point offers distant public viewing only — don't expect to get close to the property itself.
