Introduction

Kennebunkport's cafe scene is smaller than some of the destinations we've covered, and several coffee shops widely marketed as "Kennebunkport" turned out to actually be located across the river. We checked five below, all confirmed currently operating and genuinely located within Kennebunkport.

Dock Square Coffee House

A boutique coffee house anchoring Dock Square, brewing beans from a Portland, Maine roaster and sourcing pastries daily from local bakeries.

• Best-supported figure is 8am-5pm daily, per the local Chamber of Commerce listing; a secondary source suggested 7am, but the official site doesn't publish hours directly, so treat this as approximate. Closed roughly mid-December through late March; currently in season.

• Uses Coffee by Design (Portland) beans, with pastries from Little Spruce Baking Co. and Bread & Roses. Dock Square parking is genuinely tight in summer — the free North Street lot (about half a mile away) or the Kennebunkport Trolley are better bets than circling for street parking.

Fiafia Smoothie Shop & Café

A health-focused cafe near Dock Square specializing in açaí bowls, smoothies, and superfood lattes — a distinct niche from the town's more traditional coffee shops.

• Genuinely unresolved — the local Chamber listing shows Tue-Sun 8am-3pm (closed Monday), while another source suggests an even more reduced Fri-Sun-only schedule. Call (207) 204-0259 or check the shop's Facebook before visiting.

• Known for smoothies, açaí bowls, and a socially-responsible sourcing emphasis.

Cape Porpoise Kitchen

A specialty-foods market and cafe in the working lobstering village of Cape Porpoise, open daily year-round.

• Daily 7am-7pm, year-round, with no seasonal variation reported — the best-corroborated hours of the five cafes checked.

• Walk-in/counter-order deli; catering available separately.

• *Good to know:

• Primarily a sandwich, soup, and chowder deli rather than a lobster shack — don't confuse it with the separate, nearby Cape Porpoise Lobster Co.

Coveside Market

A coffee bar and market operated by The Colony Hotel, with riverside patio seating.

• Currently in peak season (the resort's main season runs roughly May 16-October 19, 2026): 7am-5pm Sunday-Thursday, 7am-7pm Friday-Saturday, per the market's own dedicated page. Outside that window, a reduced Thursday-Sunday winter schedule applies for check-ins and limited grab-and-go.

• Operated by The Colony Hotel but functions as a public-facing market, not restricted to hotel guests.

Goose Rocks Beach General Store

A seasonal beach-village general store and cafe near Goose Rocks Beach, tied closely to the summer beach season.

• Genuinely unresolved between sources — most point to daily 7am-7pm, though the store's own Facebook page suggests a 5pm close. Exact seasonal start/end months also aren't pinned down anywhere; currently confirmed operating as of early August.

• Sells the store's own "Goose Rocks Beach Community Blend" coffee, with proceeds partly benefiting the Goose Rocks Beach Association — a useful stop for beachgoers needing coffee, food, beer, or wine near the beach itself.

Practical Tips

• Don't assume a coffee shop marketed as "Kennebunkport" is actually located there — several well-known ones sit across the river in Kennebunk.

• Coveside Market and Goose Rocks Beach General Store both have seasonal or resort-tied schedules — check current hours before visiting.

• Cape Porpoise Kitchen is a genuine year-round option if you're visiting outside peak season, and has the most reliably confirmed hours of the five.

• Fiafia's schedule is genuinely reduced and unclear across sources — call ahead rather than assuming it's open.

• Kennebunkport has no airport of its own; Portland International Jetport, about 26 miles away, is the realistic option — see our travel guide's "Nearest Airport" section for the full breakdown.

Sources and Verification Notes

Each cafe's operating status, address, and character were checked against its own site and cross-checked against Yelp or TripAdvisor. Several well-known "Kennebunkport" coffee shops were independently verified to actually be located in Kennebunk before being excluded from this list. Hours for Fiafia and Goose Rocks Beach General Store showed genuine conflicts between current sources and are flagged rather than resolved arbitrarily.
