Introduction

Holland's lodging ranges from budget chains near the highway to a boutique downtown hotel with a genuine sustainability pedigree. We checked seven hotels below, all confirmed within Holland city limits — an eighth candidate turned out to be a real hotel in a different town entirely, excluded for that reason.

Tulyp, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Formerly CityFlats Hotel, this downtown boutique property rebranded into Hilton's upscale Tapestry Collection in March

  1. It was the first hotel in the Midwest, and only the second in the world, to achieve LEED Gold certification, with cork flooring and recycled glass and concrete counters backing up its eco-certified branding with real substance. It's known for design-forward rooms and locally focused dining and bar service.
  • *Check-in/out:
  • 4pm / 11am (consistent across third-party sources; Hilton's own site blocked direct verification).
  • *Good to know:
  • Free self-parking on-site. Pet policy is genuinely conflicting — Hilton's own marketing mentions pet-friendly rooms, but other sources report dogs and cats aren't allowed. Call (616) 796-2100 to confirm before traveling with a pet.

Haworth Hotel

Built through a Hope College capital campaign and opened in January 1997 as the Haworth Inn & Conference Center, this hotel sits on the edge of the Hope College campus and functions as the college's public-facing hospitality venue. Its precise legal relationship to the college isn't fully documented in public sources, but it's closely affiliated with and was built by Hope College, bridging campus and downtown Holland.

  • *Check-in/out:
  • 3pm / 12pm, confirmed directly on the official site.
  • *Good to know:
  • Complimentary parking with a dash-displayed pass; no pets except ADA service animals; free cancellation with 24+ hours' notice.

Centennial Inn

A family-owned bed-and-breakfast in a restored Victorian home in Holland's Historic District, a short walk to downtown and the Holland Museum.

  • *Check-in/out:
  • 3pm / 11am, confirmed directly on the official site (late check-out sometimes available for $10/hr).
  • *Good to know:
  • No pets except documented service animals. Cancelling 48+ hours before arrival gets a 97% refund (minus a 3% card fee); no refund inside that window.

Staybridge Suites Holland

An all-suite extended-stay hotel with full kitchens, an indoor pool and hot tub, and a fitness center, positioned as Holland's premier extended-stay option.

  • *Check-in/out:
  • 4pm / 11am (sourced via indexed IHG listings; the official site blocked direct verification).
  • *Good to know:
  • Listed as pet-friendly with a fee, though exact terms weren't itemized in available sources — confirm directly if traveling with a pet.

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson

A casual chain hotel with a gym and indoor pool.

  • *Check-in/out:
  • 3pm / 12pm (consistent across aggregators; the official Radisson site blocked direct verification).
  • *Good to know:
  • Pet-friendly — up to 2 dogs of any size for a $25/pet/night fee (cats not allowed, pets can't be left unattended in the room). Free hot breakfast; indoor pool open until midnight; within 10 minutes of the Tulip Time festival site.

Days Inn by Wyndham Holland

A budget chain hotel with free breakfast, a pool, and free Wi-Fi.

  • *Check-in/out:
  • 3pm / 11am (aggregator-sourced; the official Wyndham page didn't display exact times in what we could retrieve).
  • *Good to know:
  • Pet-friendly for a fee (2 pets max per room, 75 lbs or smaller); free light breakfast 6-9:30am; seasonal outdoor pool.

Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Holland

Marriott's economy-select tier, with free breakfast and a pool.

  • *Check-in/out:
  • 3pm / 12pm (consistent across aggregators; the official Marriott site blocked direct verification).
  • *Good to know:
  • No pets allowed (service animals only); indoor pool and hot tub open 7am-11pm.

Practical Tips

  • Tulyp is the clear pick if a boutique, design-forward stay with a genuine sustainability story matters to you — though confirm its pet policy directly if traveling with an animal, since sources conflict.

  • Centennial Inn is the pick for a historic-district B&B experience within walking distance of downtown.

  • Days Inn and Fairfield by Marriott are the straightforward budget options.

  • Haworth Hotel and Centennial Inn had check-in/out times confirmed directly on their own official sites; the four larger chain properties (Tulyp, Staybridge, Country Inn & Suites, Fairfield) rest on third-party consensus since their parent-brand sites blocked direct verification.

  • Exact nightly rates aren't included here since they change constantly by season, and the original scraped pricing data included currency-conversion artifacts — check each property's own site for current rates.

Sources and Verification Notes

Each hotel's operating status, address, and history were checked against its own official site and cross-checked against at least one third-party source. Tulyp's LEED Gold certification and its history as the former CityFlats Hotel were specifically verified against independent local business coverage, not just the hotel's own marketing. A separately scraped listing for "Quality Inn Hudsonville South" was confirmed to be a real hotel, but located in Hudsonville, a distinct municipality roughly 9 miles from Holland, and is excluded from this Holland-specific guide for that reason. Check-in/out times were confirmed directly against official sites for Haworth Hotel and Centennial Inn; the remaining five properties' official booking-engine domains (Hilton, IHG, Radisson, Wyndham, Marriott) all blocked automated verification, so their times rest on cross-checked third-party aggregators instead.
