Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar (12 College St), the flagship of a now-regional chain, remains a reliable Southern comfort food option across from Pritchard Park downtown.

River Arts District — Verified Currently Open

The Bull and Beggar (37 Paynes Way), a casual fine-dining spot known for steak frites and raw bar offerings, took on roughly two feet of floodwater during Hurricane Helene, underwent a full renovation, and reopened in January 2025 — currently operating as of 2026, a status independently confirmed by travel press coverage rather than the restaurant's own claims alone. All Souls Pizza (175 Clingman Ave), a wood-fired pizzeria, is confirmed currently open in the district as of mid-2026, though we found current listings rather than independent reporting specifically tracing its flood history.

Casual

Sunny Point Cafe (626 Haywood Rd), a family-owned West Asheville breakfast and lunch spot open since 2003, doesn't take reservations and is a solid casual pick.

Restaurants We Excluded
